Complete Underground DAS Solution with Fiber Optic Repeater and mobile Signal Booster for Elevator

1.Project Overview: Mobile Signal Booster Solution for Underground Port Facilities

Lintratek recently completed a mobile signal coverage project for an underground parking lot and elevator system at a major port facility in Shenzhen, near Hong Kong. This project demonstrated Lintratek’s comprehensive capabilities in designing and deploying professional DAS (Distributed Antenna System) solutions for complex commercial environments.

The coverage area included approximately 8,000 square meters of underground parking lot and six elevators that required stable mobile signal access. Given the structural challenges of underground environments, Lintratek’s engineering team designed a customized DAS layout tailored to the architectural blueprint of the site.

2.Fiber Optic Repeater System: Efficient and Scalable Coverage

The solution centered around a “1-to-2” fiber optic repeater system featuring a 5W power output per unit. The repeater supported three frequency bands: GSM, DCS, and WCDMA, ensuring 2G and 4G signal support across all major mobile carriers in this region.

The indoor signal distribution relied on 50 ceiling-mounted antennas, while the outdoor reception was secured with a log-periodic directional antenna. The system architecture deployed one local unit (near-end) to drive two remote units (far-end), efficiently expanding coverage across the large underground space.

3.Elevator Signal Boosting: Dedicated Mobile Signal Booster for Elevator

For the elevator shafts, Lintratek deployed its dedicated mobile signal booster for elevator, a plug-and-play solution designed specifically for vertical spaces. Unlike traditional mobile signal boosters, this setup includes both near-end and far-end units, using wireless transmission through the elevator shaft instead of long coaxial cables. This design ensures that the elevator can still transmit signals while moving in the elevator shaft.
