Due to the previous oil exploration project in Gansu and Bohai, the signal coverage effect is too good! We also received signal coverage from two oil exploration sites in Inner Mongolia Desert/Gobi Desert.

The survey is located in the Inner Mongolia desert/Gobi desert deep, a total of two survey points, each about 2000 square meters. The surrounding environment is harsh, often accompanied by sand, high temperature and scorching problems.From the nearest town 40-50 kilometers, covering the first three network signals are not available, can not use any communication tools.

Signal Detection Before Overlay

We detect signals at the top of the surrounding sand dunes. Finally, a smooth connection signal was found at the top of the higher dunes 3 km away, with an RSRP of about -100dBm.

(RSRP is the standard value for measuring whether the signal is smooth, generally speaking, it is very smooth above -80dBm, and there is basically no network below -110dBm.

Second I Designing Scheme

The project needs to solve three challenges:

1, the distance from the cover is too far, the power supply is inconvenient.

2, the overall coverage distance is too far, the signal loss problem.

3, the desert environment is harsh, need dust, water, high temperature resistance and other performance.

Product collocation scheme

For the project situation, Our team chose a 20W optical fiber repeater with a large plate antenna.

The optical fiber repeater can achieve ultra-long distance signal transmission, and the transmission process is basically loss-free. The chassis shell is designed with high-density waterproof and dust-proof aluminum alloy, which is fearless of the harsh desert environment and easily covers thousands of square meters!

The large plate antenna is selected for receiving and transmitting. The large plate antenna has the advantages of high gain, large power, good sector pattern, reliable sealing performance and long service life, and is suitable for desert, mountain and other large area coverage areas.

Due to the inconvenience of power supply in the Gobi Desert, additional solar photovoltaic power generation can perfectly solve the problem of signal coverage.

Fourth I Installation

1. Install the receiving antenna and near-end optical fiber repeater

A large plate antenna and a near-end optical fiber machine are installed at the top of the dune three kilometers away. The smoother the signal from the receiving area, the better the signal coverage effect.

2. Installing a large plate antenna and remote optical fiber repeater

Installing a large plate antenna and a remote optical fiber machine near the survey site. Because of the directional nature of the large plate antenna, the installation should be towards the signal coverage ground.

Check that the receiving and transmitting antennas are installed before connecting the optical fiber machine. Otherwise, the repeater may be damaged.

  1. Signal Testing

After installation, the “CellularZ” software is used again to detect the signal value, and the mobile and unicom signal value after coverage is -83dBm to -89dBm, the coverage effect is very obvious!
